Just sending out a feeler to see if anyone might be interested in purchasing my Dan Hall dog ring gearbox for a Sprite. I have used it for several years , one or two weekends a year. The gearbox comes with an adapter plate, driveshaft, and gear reduction stater (Isuzu Trooper I believe). I would be asking $2200. I also fabricated a front cover that holds a Tilton relaese bearing. If someone is interested or has any questions contact me. Thank you.

It is a early nissan 210 case. It is a 4 speed. Most of the bearings are std nissan but if you need non nissan parts I understand Peter Zekert is servicing them since Dan passed away a couple of years ago. I was able to purchase the a new drop gear from Dan.1st 2nd and 3rd are Hewland mk. 9. I just replaced the two slider dog rings recently.

For a Sprite/Midget I have the driveshaft(needs front u-joint), solid mount that allows through tunnel exhaust, adapter plate to fit up to A series engine, and a gear reduction starter(Isuzu Trooper). I use a Tilton 5 inch clutch so I made a mount that fits over the front cover that a Tilton annular release bearing bolts to. The driveshaft only needs the front u-joint and since it is a Nissan shaft the joints are staked in, no sir clips so a driveshaft shop may need to do the work. I also have a 7 1/4 inch clutch disc that goes with it. If you have any more questions feel free to pm or call (352-455-4081). Thanks for looking.

What ratios? how are dog rings/forks? Assuming all are hewland or webster bits...anything else special inside?

Bob L.

(FWIW: have a couple of 4 spd stock 210 boxes, weren't 5spd as thought when bought. Now available if needing stock bits... adapter plate that came with them (not Rivergate) was made wrong missed centerlines, off about half a bolt on mounts...guess it could be fixed.. Rivergate 5spd set up I finally got for street is super, short throws, crisp shifts...and all synchro'd....)

Ratios are 1st 18/33 (1.778), 2nd 21/31 (1.476, and 3rd 23/28 (1.217). 4th is direct through a drop gear set up. Since you brought it up I remembered that the adapter plate was not aligned very well when I got it so I re-aligned it. just checked it the other day and it looks good. Dogs, forks, bearings all in good shape. There are parts that Dan had made like the input shaft that uses a Nissan spline.
