Wow, Smartycams are only $1k. Sounds like another excellent idea Jesse. How about we convert back to stock rods again.

I've learned to enjoy your banter Chris! Take care buddy.

No longer a rumor.
9.18 Forward Facing Cameras (*NEW for 2020*): All cars must have a forward-facing camera that provides a clear horizontal field of view of the cars and track
ahead. The cameras may be mounted either inside the car, or on the body. If video is needed to make a determination of an on-track incident, a competitor’s
video may be requested by race officials whether or not said competitor was involved in the incident. Failure to provide such video may result in penalties.

Even Aldis had an "action cam" for $60.

These cameras cost less than a session of race gas... benefits of having video of on track conduct and incidents is how people actually get penalized for damaging other peoples stuff. I know how this board likes to talk about replacing fiberglass.... lets find another topic to shake a stick at.

^^^ Those look like clones of the Hero 1. And the price at this moment is less than $10.

Problem is, who's gonna make sure it gets turned on? I tend to forget (honestly, not being facetious). Can Grid be a source for assistance?

Honestly, not being facetious as well.

Half the time the 'turn-er-on' person could not remember HOW to turn it on.

I've got a buddy who has a traffic camera attached to the rear-view mirror on his street car.
Its memory is handled in a FIFO fashion so it always has the last hour of recording.
It's automatically and continually deleting the old stuff and putting the new stuff in there.
I guess this is similar to many security camera arrangements.

This would seem to eliminate the, "turn it on and start recording" problems.
Just wire it to the ignition or transponder.

Anthony, are you aware of any traffic cameras like that for $9.89 with free standard shipping?
