The only offical forward facing video camera will be sold by Enterprise. Soon to be followed by the rearward facing camera. This way, there will be no confusion by the grid people when asked to please turn on the camera. Tech and stewards will have no problem with verifying originality and operation.

Why not have the club run drones over the track? Puts it in the club's hands as opposed to my incapable ones.

Don't get me started on that. I'm still pissed at paying 350+ dollars for a transponder that should have cost 50 bucks max.

Or last year when the battery magically ejected itself from my HERO cam. Gonna lose times for that? Seems like another stupid rule we do not need.

Agreed. I can barely remember to turn my transponder on.

Impossible to do this if the transponder is hot whenever the disconnect is hot.

As far as the topic at hand. I'm another who had his race result saved with a camera, and I have absolutely found improvements using it in conjunction with data.

I think it's a great expectation to have at our one race championship where a single mistake by a driver or official can ruin a season for someone.

I hate to bring this up but has anyone confirmed that there is a requirement to have a camera, just a rumor, or just BS? And if anyone remembers, I'm still looking for a manual remote for my cameras or a simple camera system that you can just turn on and off without hauling a lap top with you.

Good catch, Bob. I clearly said it was a rumor. Only one other person has confirmed it, Darryl Saylor.

But, as I read it, doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Well you guys got me all excited with the car ready to go so I went ahead and ordered a smarty cam for the car yesterday. That will give me something to do on the car while we wait!

Wow, Smartycams are only $1k. Sounds like another excellent idea Jesse. How about we convert back to stock rods again.

Sure why not? Jesse would love to build you a new engine for every race. ;)
