I believe the blue and white Miata is Terry McCarthy from the Bay area. The car looks like his and the S3 logo on the front fender is Stacy Suspension Systems, also from the Bay area. He did Terry's suspension through various classes and years of racing.

edit: After doing a little research it is definitely Terry McCarthy in the blue/white Miata on the pole. He won EP that year.
The blue and white Miata I saw in the video that I watched was number 13 which was definitely Bob Boig. Don't know which one you saw that was McCarthy.

I don't think Boig was even in the 94 EP race. The blue car with the white stripes is Terry McCarthy.

Bobs car had an all white hood. http://rrdc.org/member/robert-e-boig/
Apparently you are talking about the 94 race with Hardy Prentice. I believe the question was what year did Bob Boig win the Runoffs and then what color was Bob's car. I don't know how McCarthy's car or what year he qualified on the pole even enters this conversation. Hoffman was wrong when he stated that he saw Bob's car circulating around.

I was commenting on the Hoffman post (3rd post) "Also, someone uploaded Hardy Prentice's home movies from the Runoffs here:

1994 (one part of many) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAzmYulQSCg . You can see Bob's Miata circulating around."

The question about when Boig won had been answered already by Isley in post 2.

I wasn't paying attention when you initially posted. I assumed it was Hoffman, given that my post was aimed at him.

I'm still running Bob's car, color is back to white/blue (I believe Erik painted it white/red before selling to Jim D) currently number 8. I changed it to Bob's white and Blue short after I got it over 10 years ago. Racer Magazine published this article in 2017.

https://racer.com/2017/04/28/don-tucker ... -ep-miata/

Bob had white Mazda stickers raping around the trunk, I was going to duplicate this last year, but Mazda wanted their sticker over the rear wheel and couldn't make both work.

I have the log books and can confirm 1998, still an amazingly well engineered car.

Thanks,

I’m glad to hear she’s turning laps.

When Erik and I drove over to get it, Bob wanted the seat removed so he could keep it. That damn thing was so low that Erik couldn’t slide his arm under the chassis to put a wrench on the seat bolts. And pushing it into the trailer was a pain as we had to jack up the trailer’s tongue to allow the chassis to clear the door/trailer threshold.

Then we fretted over getting it back into try US at Port Huron. This was a post 9/11 world and the border had a line of trucks miles long to clear inspection. Fortunately for us, we could slide through in the car lines and it was a 30s Q&A to get it. Whew.

I was crew for Erik/the Boig Mobile during the 2002 year. Question, where did/does the Erik built closed top E prod blue RX7 reside?

That car went to Madison Bolden. Haven't seen it since he bought it though. It was an open car.
