Hello Tim - Let's hope it's not the norm. The St. Louis region knew they were scheduling their event at the same time the VIR Hoosier Super Tour race, which was already scheduled. There are over 540 entrants at the Super Tour at VIR this weekend so this is the reason for the low turn out at Gateway.

I'd agree that VIR is your big problem. But also Gateway has only pulled about 80 entries total each season prior.

Why are there 2 on the same coast the same weekend?

Coast? Coast? The only "coast" Gateway is near is the banks of the Mississippi River.

Maybe because it's the site of this year's Runoffs? :ask:

Tim, St Louis Region had very little choice of good dates at Gateway, and chose to schedule on top of the VIR Majors as the "Least Worst Alternative".

Maybe in the future, being the "last available Majors" would be advised.

We in the midwest also loose money being the "last majors available". Sure, we will get a few entries, but we will also lose those prepared and preparing for Runoffs. It's tough in the low density parts of the US.
