I thought it would be interesting to hear where everyone thinks the 2019 Runoffs will be held! On a pure gut feeling guess, I am going to go with COTA... Can't be west coast two years in a row and I think the attendance would be greater in the semi center of the country (compared to Sonoma, Laguna, Watkins Glen, etc...)

What's your guess?

I had a BOD member ask me if I would like to see the Runoffs at Watkins Glen while I was at Indy! They just lost the fall Indy Car race so we could help fill that void I guess. VIR has been the most rumbled about over the past year so I was surprised by the question. The club has found financial success from this Bucket list tour so I would assume it will continue.

My family is banking on VIR or Watkins...or at least wishing for.

Not happenin. SCCA can't afford 2 weeks at COTA. even with 800+ cars, the entry fee would be $5k per competitor to cover the astronomical track rental..

Is track rental really that high there? I wouldn't think it would be more than Indy was, but I don't know. I would prefer something centrally located again like Indy, but that's just for towing purposes!!

You must have an odd looking map if Indy appears to be central to you.

Between Road America multiple times, Daytona, Mid-Ohio, and Indy, I have had my fill of 4000+ mile tows. The idea of VIR (which does nothing for me) at 5000 miles, no thanks.

But for some twisted reason I could get behind Sebring. From what I hear the track might not be able to handle the Runoffs.

I have no idea what the COTA track rental is. However, the Trans Am series runs there with like 66(2017 entry count as of today) cars total in all classes and entry is ~$1500 depending on class. Of course Trans Am is only there like four days. Load in Wednesday, test Thursday, official sessions Friday through Saturday. And of course they are sharing the event with SVRA, approximately 300 entries as of today, which adds more entries at equal or less cost(no idea of SVRA entry fee). So, you're talking less than 400 cars total renting COTA for the SVRA/Trans Am event. Of course, I guess we could assume that SVRA and Trans Am have to front some monies outside of collected entry fees to pay for the track rental? Just thinking out loud.

YMMV
