Dinner With Racers Podcast

I guess my car in not "fully developed". WOW. I've listened to a bunch of the "Dinner with Racers" podcasts and have enjoyed them.
It's a bit sobering, really. It really is an awesome series, if you're a Motorsports fan. Love hearing how people got their starts, developed into their current roles, and the ups and downs along the way, as well as just cool/funny stories from the track.

So Kevin,

If a wealthy previously convicted (but now out of prison having served his time) drug dealer came to you and said......."I want you to test and fully develop my racer for me......and here's a pot of money to do the job right" .........would you take the gig knowing your salary almost certainly came from the illegal drug trade profits?

Just askin.

I see the sheeple are out in full force on this post.

Most of you don't know squat about this except for what the government and the media wants you to know.

I would suggest waiting until the government actually convicts him of something concerning his business, before jumping on the bandwagon.

As for those of you all agog about the money that was spent, it was way less than is being speculated, and it was spent because ST owned West and the plan was to build the best sportsracers in the marketplace. It was development money, not a one off project.

As an aside, those of you who think it was ego driven are so far off base. ST was the least ego driven racer I have ever met.

Oh come on dhr,

Were you on his payroll? What planet have you been living on? This allegation is not Tucker's first rodeo as in 1991 he was convicted of mail fraud and spent a year in Leavenworth prison (thank you expensive attorneys an friends in high places for the short sentence). He's a career scam artist and that is precisely why the FED is going after him.......to make an example of guys like this. And don't think for a second that they don't have ALL of their ducks in a row before indicting the guy. Imagine how stupid they look if he walks.....aka.......he's REALLY dirty and there is a mountain of damining evidence. If it looks like a duck and smells like a duck and quacks like a duck.........it's a duck.

From Wikipedia.........does this look like the history of a "good" guy? The readers may decide for themselves.

Personal life[edit]

Tucker grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and studied business administration at Kansas State University. Tucker is married and has two daughters.[22]

In 1991, Tucker was convicted of felony mail fraud and making false statements to a bank.[23] He was imprisoned for a year at Leavenworth federal prison.[23]

Tucker is the chairman of Westfund, a private-equity firm.[1] He is also an employee of AMG Services, a payday loan company that is reported to use tribal entities for collection purposes.[22][23]

In April 2012, the Federal Trade Commission filed a civil suit against AMG Services, Scott Tucker and others alleging that AMG engaged in illegal business tactics.[24] The lawsuit was settled in July 2013.[25] Tucker was not found to have committed any wrongdoing.[25] In May 2014, a U.S. grand jury subpoenaed AMG Services as part of a criminal probe conducted by the office of Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, reportedly looking at possible violations of statutes covering wire fraud, money laundering and racketeering.[26]

In January 2015, AMG Services agreed to settle charges with the Federal Trade Commission by paying a $21 million fine as well as waiving an additional $285 million in charges that were assessed but not collected.[27][28]

So he's a convicted drug dealing kingpin now? Mkay, well in that case....I just don't know. I mean, it sounds pretty sweet, and I'd get to do what I love...and I got kids to feed, man! Or, well, I might some day, you never know! Think of my possible children!!! Also, is this fictional drug lord still like a Tony Montana-esque drug lord, or has he changed his ways and only uses his dirty money to fund racecar development and construction of churches and clean water wells in third world countries? I mean, that's a pretty big difference! I think I can get onboard with the latter! And if he is still a drug dealer, does he offer his dealers a 401K, profit sharing, and require them to ID their customers before making a sale, forcing them to adhere to a strict "no selling to minors!" policy? Sorry Jay, I'm just going to need more details...

Lighten up, man...

Say hello to my little racecar. 8)

Jay, you have officially achieved crackpot status in my book with this statement alone... "(thank you expensive attorneys an friends in high places for the short sentence). "

If you knew anything about him you'd know he didn't have a pot to piss in in '91. He certainly didn't have anyone pulling strings for him.
I won't go into the details, except to say he made a mistake and paid for it with a year of his life.

I do know that for 10 years or so the courts ruled that he was in the right as far as his business went. After the Feds took an interest and got a ruling that made his business plan unworkable, he stopped it in it's tracks.

I don't know about you, but I am not prescient enough to guess what changes might be made to a law tomorrow, that could affect what I am doing today.

Judging by the concern being bandied about in the thread about the EPA, I would guess a whole lotta prep shops and racers are about to become criminals.
