 Post subject: Asymmetric Main Roll Hoops

Is it possible to "grandfather" in an asymmetric main hoop roll cage that does not meet the 50% minimum width rule? The GCR says that Production cars registered before 1/1/2008 can follow Appendix J that does not directly specify the 50% minimum (as does Appendix I).

Rick, The current cage rules do not have the 50% requirement. They have a picture but that's it. If following the text you can go directly from the "high" corner to the top of the passenger door without any mention of remaining at full height for any distance. I don't know what means for you though.
